A re-post from my old channel. This comic by Pendulum press, US (reprinted in 1988 by Paico publishers in India) was my first introduction to Pride & Prejudice and Jane Austen as a kid. Unfortunately, the original copy (which was a translation in my native language) was lost some years later, but some of the images stuck in my memory for decades until I finally managed to find this PDF scan uploaded by someone online. Recently my brother who happens to be a collector of such old Indian comic prints managed to find a physical copy as well (though the pages were understandably a bit battered and torn after decades of storage and use).
Needless to say, the "first impressions" made by this comic during childhood have resulted in the "likenesses" of Lizzy and Darcy as seen in these pages to remain etched in my memory as the definitive image of the two characters (despite the obvious anachronisms in hair styles and dress).
The music played in the background is based on several piano pieces Lizzy plays in different adaptations.
