Lyrics:
In the middle of the night
I go hopping in my sleep.
I was resting soft and sweet
‘til I was woken from the deep.
Guess I forgot to have dinner.
My belly’s sounding forlorn.
Don’t wanna wake up my baby
but this can’t wait til morn.

I’m not sure I can make it alone;
I am groggy and I am just a puppet of fluff
struggling hard to keep both my eyes wide
so I can find what It is I am craving to munch.

In the middle of the night
I go hopping in my sleep.
It’s a perilous path,
but I must find a plant to eat
I can’t quite reach the light switch,
so, I’m going in blind.
Oh, how I wish we had tidied.
How I wish I had dined.

In the night it is dark not a light
to guide me from the bed to the kitchen fridge door
I’m tryin' hard not to trip over toys,
or slip up on blankets and fall down flat on the floor.

In the middle of the night
I go hopping in my sleep
past two apex predators
hoping I know how to creep.
I must be dreaming of carrots.
They drive me out of my mind
‘cuz they taste really sweet
but they can be hard to find
in the middle of the night.

Now these books all behave like a maze.
I’m so tired, and I don’t have much strength anymore.
I hope and pray for the grace to go on
until I finally find what I been looking foooooooor

In the middle of the night
I yank the fridge until I leap
backwards into heaps of clothes
still tryin’ not to make a peep.
I see we’re all outa carrots,
but we got bunches of greens,
and some scrumptious fruits
smelling quite nice to me
in the middle of the night.
