Pros: Off-road capability, functional work truck, off-road tuning/suspension, and updated tech
Cons: Average to low fuel economy, single engine offering, high priced packages
Exterior Style: It's like a giant Tonka truck begging to get dirty. The Raptor is wider than a traditional F-150 and has a unique black grille with FORD spelled across the center. It's available with 35" or 37" off-road tires and a graphics package to really maximize the rugged look.
Interior: It's very spacious with plenty of head and leg room in all seats. The freshly updated interior uses new, unique materials that feel industrial, but premium. Technology integrates with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa wirelessly and offers a fully digital cluster.
Performance: A twin-turbo 3.5L V6 that generates 450 horsepower packs enough power to get the Raptor from 0-60 in around 5 seconds. Raptors have a redesigned five-link coil-spring rear suspension paired with larger dampers to give it more control at higher speeds.
Family Friendly: There is plenty of room to accommodate five and it even includes LATCH anchors for child safety seats. However, it rides high so be prepared to lift the kids in and out. It's not the best at pump with a combined EPA rating of 16 MPG.
Value: Prices for the Raptor are up from 2021 as there is no longer a base model. However, all trucks are now SuperCrew models that can be used in a multitude of ways... hauling a trailer, on-board generator, work space, off-roading, and more. This truck does a lot and will hold value in the long term.
Final Statement: It's hard to find many downsides to the F-150 Raptor outside of the expected low fuel economy. Ford built a tough truck that has gotten better with each generation. This version is refined, but still very much wild. Improved technology works together seamlessly to deliver a solid truck that performs well on and off the pavement. The inside is durable, functional, and modern with unique materials and advanced technology. The Raptor has definitely evolved over the past eleven years and competitors have taken notice which ought to make for some fun head-to-head battles ahead.
