Fishing leaders are important to reduce visibility of your lure and protect you from getting bitten off by a toothy fish like a muskie, northern pike, or barracuda. But what happens to the action of a small lure when you pair it with a thick, heavy leader? I use a lot of small crankbaits for walleyes, brown trout, white bass, and drum where there are also a lot of muskies and pike around. Does a thick leader's effect on the lure outweigh its benefits?
