Maaan, at the time of writing, I am suffering horribly from a pink eye infection. It's bad. But this tutorial series must go on! You see what I do for you guys? 😅😷
Anyways, the last tutorial - Fixes Before Running on Simulator– had us do some fixes to our code before we can run on the simulator. Likewise, in this tutorial, we have to setup firebase before we can run.
So, let's get on with it!
We had you add a firebase.js config in the last tutorial, now we got to get that config by starting a firebase account. Head on over to https://console.firebase.google.com and set up your account and all that easy stuff you need to do.
TODO #1: Click Add Project on the page you land on.
TODO #2: Enter a name for your project (i.e. dancingnomadsmobile22).
TODO #3: In Step 2 of 2, just go with the defaults as shown in the picture below and click "Create Project".
TODO #4: Click "continue" when everything is done.
TODO #5: On the page you land on, click the little tag icon.
TODO #6: Give an app nickname and Register app.
TODO #7: Once you register, you'll be given the configs which I want you to copy everything in var firebaseConfig.
TODO #8: Copy the config that you got from firebase and go to src/services/config/firebase.js in your project and paste it over the template that exists there.
That's it! You're done!
