Did you know that in the 1982 version of Poltergeist, they actually used real human skeletons in this scene
Apparently at the time it was too expensive to make fake skeletons
JoBeth Williams who was in the scene said that it took 4 or 5 days to shoot and she assumed that the skeletons were fake, it wasn’t until after they were done shooting that she found out the skeletons were actually real
Some people believe this is what led to the infamous Poltergeist curse after 4 actors from the Poltergeist franchise died, however, skeptics will point out that only 1 of those deaths can really be seen as sudden and unnatural, the others were the result of chronic illnesses
Poltergeist became the highest grossing horror movie of 1982, it spawned 2 sequels, a remake in 2015 and a TV series that is currently in development
