STEM on Ice: San Jose Sharks Elevate Education with Hockey-Scholar Program
Dive into an exhilarating educational adventure with 150 middle school students as they take the science of hockey from the classroom to the ice. On March 7th, 2023, the San Jose Sharks hosted an unforgettable STEM on Ice event, designed exclusively for 8th-grade students who have thrived in the Future Goals Hockey-Scholar STEM computer program.
Sponsored by the National Hockey League (NHL) and masterfully crafted and implemented by EVERFI, the Future Goals program merges the excitement of hockey with the critical concepts of STEM education. Students have the unique opportunity to explore the science behind making ice, understand the mechanics of the Zamboni, and discover the physics of making perfect passes off the boards.
