🎹 THE BALLET PIANIST 👯♀️ Improvisation or repertoire???
The main risk about only improvising music in ballet classes is that your music can create a repetitive and monotonous feeling. In my opinion, the only exception about improvising the whole ballet class is if the pianist can do it in different music styles, and that’s not easy! Then, why not use repertoire and scores if you need them? In this video, I give my opinion on this subject.
