About Cosmonautics Day
On April 12, 1961, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person to fly into space. Aboard the Vostok-1 spacecraft, he orbited the entire planet in just one hour and 48 minutes.
Since then, every year on April 12, we celebrate Cosmonautics Day.
