Welcome to the final tutorial in our 'How to Use' series. In this video, we're diving into the heart of TypeAce: the Keyboard Extension. Let's get started.
The keyboard extension features an upper action bar equipped with 8 key functions:
1. Send Request Button: Sends a request to the GPT model. The model considers all text before the cursor for context.
2. Switch Keyboard Button: Changes to a different keyboard input mode.
3. Delete All Button: Erases all text in the input field, but only works if the cursor is at the end of the text.
4. Paste Button: Inserts the clipboard's content into the input field.
5. Space Button: Inserts a space.
6. Next Line Button: Begins a new line.
7. Backspace Button: Deletes the character before the cursor.
8. Dismiss Keyboard Button: Hides the keyboard.
Below the action bar, you'll find the 'Use Clipboard Text' option. When checked, the content from the clipboard is used within the prompt.
Imagine you have the phrase, "Translate this article to French," in your input field. If 'Use Clipboard Text' is checked, 'this article' would refer to the content copied to your clipboard. The app understands that the clipboard content is the 'article' to be translated.
Below the 'Use Clipboard Text' section, you'll see your commonly used prompts, such as "Make text more formal" or "Translate to Japanese". If 'Use Clipboard Text' is checked, the selected prompt applies to the clipboard text. Otherwise, it applies to the text in the input field.
Once you've sent a request, you'll see the AI response displayed in the response view. You'll have several options for handling this response:
1. Stop Response Button: If the AI is still generating the response, you can use this button to stop it.
2. Copy Button: Once the AI response is complete, you can copy the text to your clipboard using this button.
3. Insert to Text Field Button: If you want to insert the AI's response directly into the text field, simply press this button.
4. Regenerate Response Button: Not happy with the AI's response? Hit this button to prompt the AI to generate a new response.
