Development of TxDOT UAS Flight Operations Manual and Applications Evaluations: Project 0-6944
Researchers at the University of Texas – Arlington identified and developed strategies for using unmanned airborne vehicles (UAVs) with close range photogrammetry (CRP) techniques. The drones were mounted with high-resolution digital cameras for enhancing tasks related to mapping and surveying, as well as collecting visual data for assessing different types of structures: pavements, bridges, and stockpiles. Guidelines and policy recommendations were also developed.
