Develop and Validate Precast Column Solutions for Texas Bridges 0-7089
The UT-Center for Transportation Research team developed and validated practical standard designs and connection details for precast concrete bridge columns. The project focused on finding cost-effective precast concrete column solutions for Texas bridges that will be compatible with typical bridge designs and existing precast bent cap solutions. Large-scale laboratory tests evaluated the constructability and structural performance of the proposed precast column designs and details considering typical loading conditions. Final products included design recommendations and standard details for cost-effective precast column systems for Texas bridges.
