Anton Evgenievich Pankratyev presented a paper to participants of the 10th Open Seminar for Mathematics Teachers on various important details related to the nuances of formulating and posing problems.

The paper discusses important details that are not always given due consideration when formulating, solving, and checking solutions to mathematical problems. Examples of problem formulations that differ by literally a single symbol but lead to fundamentally different solutions and answers are given.

Furthermore, the paper discusses errors made by problem writers, where the use of incorrect word order results in the problem formally asking for something other than what the writer intended.

Incorrect formulations of well-known results (divisibility tests, theorems) found in widely used textbooks are mentioned.

Finally, two solutions to the same inequality, differing only by a single symbol but based on completely different logical steps, are compared.
