209th National Council on the Arts Public Meeting (March 2023)
The 209th National Council on the Arts Public Meeting took place on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC. Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson, chair, National Endowment for the Arts, led the meeting which took place in person and livestreamed.
The National Council on the Arts advises the NEA chair on agency policies and programs, and reviews and makes recommendations to the chair on applications for grants, funding guidelines, and leadership initiatives. This meeting included updates from Chair Jackson, and presentations on new arts and cultural economic data, and NEA initiatives Poetry Out Loud® and Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network.
