Additional Discussion:
I did not get a chance to review the cameras or camera software because one of the cameras was damaged. The version of iOS that was on the device at the time when I took possession of it was not as strict as newer versions, (which will close the camera app upon recognition of a fault in any of its modules, instead of allowing the user to soldier on with the remaining good hardware) but I did not remain on it long enough to perform meaningful testing. From the raw samples that I've seen, the results are quite good, and I do believe that Apple's camera software is quite excellent overall, (in terms of not overprocessing the jpegs) so I have little reason to believe that the X is lacking in this department, contrary to what we saw on newer Samsungs.
