Summarizing all changes to the completed version of Anti-Form Sora in the Free Flow Virtuoso Improvements Implementation Mod for KH2FM.

This undertaking for Anti-Form Sora was pretty substantial due to the ambition of it. This Sora form plays completely different from anything I've ever made in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix due to the control scheme of it. It's still pretty unbelievable to me that stuff like this can just work now in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. God I love programming AI files for Kingdom Hearts II when they actually work.

Anti-Glide has always been one of the coolest animations Sora has, but it's mixed with terrible frame data. Before my changes, you had 8 frames of invincibility on startup, but 92 frames before Sora could even act out of it. Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix developers just really wanted you to perish if you got this form. Now it is the most versatile maneuver in Anti-Form Sora's kit due to the utility of it, and it makes everything else in the form more satisfying as a result. Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix's momentum system helps add to its usefulness as well.

Anti-Form has also always had strong frame data on its finishers for the most part, so I didn't need to change those moves too much. Turns out when you can auto-jump your attack to a move with invincibility in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix's combat system, it's quite strong when used intelligently.

Chrono Trigger, or what I was previously calling Witch Time, was probably the hardest part of making this form. It went through multiple iterations, the first of which would have Sora apply the world slowing effect only if you hit your target. The problem is if Sora hit multiple targets at the same time, the darkness effect on the rest of the Kingdom Hearts II world would double-stack, and only one of those could be terminated by Sora afterward. After that, I tried to have it apply for a set amount of time, but an AI file attached to the player doesn't support timers. If this was something like Project Aqua, I could just have the AI of my idle sound dummy run a timer for this sort of thing, but it doesn't work with just Sora.

I decided to just scrap that idea of letting you have Chrono Trigger speed combos, since the game would also end up dropping some of Sora's hitboxes that refreshed too fast anyway. In the end, I decided to just give Anti-Form Sora a no-cost toggle that deactivates on attack, as it still provides really awesome utility, and Sora already paid the cost of his maximum Drive value to use this Drive Form anyway.

Oh, and Reaction Commands. Imagine having to deal with Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix refreshing something every frame that intentionally grays out Reaction Commands for Anti-Sora. This form is actually more restricted than Roxas, Mickey, and Lion Sora. Kingdom Hearts II's developers intentionally wrote in special exceptions for Anti-Form Sora, and I have no idea what is causing it. It's pretty unfortunate, given that any method I try resulted in something hacky, and Anti-Sora still can't perform combo Reaction Commands (Ex: Axel's Overtaker into Clear Light). I guess it would be pretty boring if one Sora form was an answer to everything though? I'd still make it work well in Kingdom Hearts II regardless if I could.

Anyway, all that being said, the C-Stick Wifi Warrior variant of Anti-Form Sora here is so damn fun to play. I actually had to put off this video several times because I kept discovering extra little intricacies with Anti-Sora's kit. Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix just reacts to certain moveset stuff in weird ways sometimes, but there are plenty of things like gradual momentum transfers that work out in the character's favor. As always, I will reiterate I love Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, both from a gameplay and programming perspective. The fact that I can even inject extra button macros into Sora by using an AI file, and there ends up being zero repercussions to it, just shows how strong the foundation of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix is. As always, stay tuned for more.
