The Classic Padang | Cinematic Travel Video
Hi fellas!
I wanted to create a video of old town district (Kota Tua) in Padang for so long. Some months ago when I visited my hometown, I was finally able to make it. Thanks to my friend, Dea, for helping me as the talent of this video!
I think this old town district of Padang is the most unique part of this city! People from various ethnicities like local Minang, Chinese, and Indian are living together in harmony there. Several cultural heritage buildings are also located here, so you can imagine yourself travelling back in time to Padang City before the independence of Indonesia.
In the heart of the district lies Batang Arau river, where many small ships from the traditional ones (the "sampan"/"biduak") to the modern ones pass and dock there. Above that very river, the beautiful Siti Nurbaya bridge stands there connecting two sides of the river.
If you're too excited exploring Padang's old town and feel hungry, no need to worry! This district is a heaven for food lovers! On Siti Nurbaya bridge, you can order Jaguang Baka (roasted corn) or Pisang Baka (roasted banana) from many street food stalls that starting to sell just before the sunset. They are quite yummy snacks to eat while enjoying the view of gorgeous Batang Arau river. In the center of this district, there are plenty of cafe and restaurants that sell various delicious food, from the local cuisine like Es Durian (durian ice cream) to western food in some restaurants there.
