So, after a year and 7 months of owning a 27" high end iMac. I decided to make a change.
I don't just own the starting model iMac, but the Quad-Core i5 3.1GHz 27" Mid 2011 iMac with 12GB of Ram & Radeon HD 6970M with 1GB DDR5...I decided to upgrade to a Mac Pro. Not just your average Quad-Core model, but the Six-Core 3.33GHz model ^_^ I started to notice a performance difference with using Final Cut Pro X, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Fireworks, Bridge CS5, etc, etc....
So, I went with the upgraded faster Mac Pro. It has the following specifications:
(Present Day Specs):
*One 3.33GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon (NOTE 12 Cores aren't better because there is barely ANY programs that take advantage of 12 atm)
*32GB's - 1333MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM (4X8GB)
*ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB of GDDR5
*ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB of GDDR5
NOTE: these are configured with CrossFire setup.
*1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
*1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
*4TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 6Gb/s
*OCZ 256GB Vertex 4 Series SATA 6.0 GB/s 2.5-Inch SSD
NOTE: the two SSD's are raided with raid 0 to get SATA III speeds
*LG 14x Super Multi Blue - Mac Pro Kit
*One 18x SuperDrive
(Future Specs):
*Another OCZ 256GB Vertex 4 Series SATA 6.0 GB/s 2.5-Inch SSD (for Windows 7 Professional currently on my 1TB HDD)
*OWC 120GB Mercury Accelsior™PCI Express Solid State Drive
*1TB OWC SSD announced in CES
*SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 7970 GHz Edition 6GB GDDR5
*SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 7970 GHz Edition 6GB GDDR5
NOTE: these are configured with CrossFire setup. (Or two 7990 2013 version)
