Dark clouds swirl over Stormvale, the neon lights flickering as the storm rolls in. On the rooftops, Thundertail Mouse zips through the city, streaking like lightning itself. His speed is near-invisible—his body a blur of golden sparks. But tonight is different. He’s learning to control his power, to harness the storm instead of merely running with it.
Watching from above, perched on a broken streetlamp, Stormsage Owl narrows his sharp eyes.
Stormsage Owl: “Speed alone won’t save you, young one. You must learn to strike before your enemy does.”
Thundertail skids to a stop on the rooftop’s edge, his tiny paws crackling with static.
Thundertail Mouse: “Easier said than done, Stormsage. I outrun them all—but what if I need to fight?”
From the depths of an alley, Shadowfang, the master of darkness, is already weaving his plan. His glowing crimson eyes flicker under the haze of the city lights. He knows Thundertail’s weakness—his reliance on speed.
Shadowfang (smirking): “You may be fast, little spark... but even lightning can be trapped.”
The Trap Unfolds
Thundertail launches forward, his speed sending ripples of electricity through the air. Every rooftop is his playground. But something feels off. The air is too still. The shadows are too deep.
Above, Boltwing Raven swoops down in a hurry.
Boltwing Raven (warning): “Careful, rodent! The night is treacherous—you run blind, but he sees everything.”
But it’s already too late. Shadowfang strikes. A pulse of dark energy surges across the rooftop—an unseen trap. The moment Thundertail lands, the storm turns against him. A void of black mist rises, twisting toward him like a clawed hand.
Shadowfang (laughing): “Got you.”
