In this clip from the 15th James Bond movie "The Living Daylights" (1987) we see Bond (Timothy Dalton) running towards a guard with a paint gun.
Since Bond and the rest of the 00-section are testing their capability to get inside an SAS radarstation at Gibraltar, we of course should not expect Bond to eliminate this guard. Yet Bond needs to get past this guard in order to chase a real villain who just killed one of the 00-agents.
However, the way Bond overpowers this guard is pretty unimpressive.
Luckily, Bond makes up for that more than enough during the rest of the movie. This was the first ever Bond scene with Timothy Dalton portraying Bond. And to be honest, I don't think the script allowed Dalton to make an everlasting impression with this first scene. The movie has much better scenes later on in which we truly learn to appreciate Dalton's style as a coldblooded spy.
History granted us only 2 Bond movies with Dalton. A few more would have been nice, but it is what it is...
Starring Timothy Dalton, Maryam d'Abo, Jeroen Krabbé, Joe Don Baker, John Rhys-Davies, Art Malik and the amazing Andreas Wisniewski as henchman Necros. Couldn't help myself giving him a special mention because he is one of the more convincing henchmen of the franchise. Both his physique and demeanor are pretty intimidating in about every character he creates.
