In this video, I'll explain how to perform "Injector Trim Codes" using the Volvo Tech Tool.
A trim code, or trim file, is a code entered into the Electronic Control Module (ECM) that determines how long the injector takes to inject fuel into the cylinder. Not all engines require this trim code.
When some manufacturers create these specialized electronic injectors, they install them in the engine after testing for proper fuel output. If the output falls outside the specified range, the computer will generate a code to control the flow so that the net output is within specifications.
