A force is any sort of push or pull on an object. However there are many different kinds of forces. All of these forces can be categorized as Contact Forces and Non-Contact forces.
Forces can also effect an objects motion if the forces are unbalanced. However, if the forces are balanced, there is no change in the objects motion.
