No no it doesn't take 30 minutes to set up a feedback loop. Don't worry. It takes about 30 seconds and a TON of warnings. Use a limiter. Don't have your gain too high. Keep your headphones and monitors at a reasonable level.... etc etc.
Anyways, we are going to make a feedback loop in Reaper! And this is actually quite fun. There's like an entire "feedback as sound design" sub culture with tons of ideas and opinions and stuff. That's not what this video is. This is just a guide to setting it up (safely!) and starting to find your way around it.
All these principles apply to all DAW's although routing may obviously look different.
