The leather movement in perfumery traces its roots to the works of Caron and Chanel, dedicated to the "new woman" of the 1920s and their revolutionary image: short haircuts, bare ankles, and a tough character. In this new review, Masha Golovina and I will examine eight examples of this movement: from classic and arthouse leather fragrances like Moth and Rabbit and The Zoo to bestsellers from Tom Ford and Bottega Veneta.
