So in this video we will create this a table and then we are going to apply or use the COALESCE function as a calculated field in our charts or tables from scratch so that you can get the awareness that when where and how we can apply the COALESCE function using calculated field,

And before we use this function, let's understand the COALESCE function first.

COALESCE function is a conditional function in looker and it Returns the first non-missing value found in a list of fields.

Now lets go and create a calculated field using COALESCE in our table

Syntax
COALESCE(field_expression[, field_expression, ...])

Parameters
field_expression - it is a field or expression. All field_expressions must be of the same type.
