Dr Mary, Fulstone, "Dr Mary" to all who knew her, was a true Nevada pioneer. She was one of the first women country doctor in Western Nevada, starting practicing medicine in 1918.
She was my uncle's mother. My father recorded this TV show on his Sony Betamax in 1979.
Dr. Mary was born August 3, 1892, and died in December, 1987. When she retired from practicing medicine at the age of 91, she was the longest-practicing physician in the state of Nevada. She was born in Eureka, graduated from University of California, Berkeley (undergraduate and medical school), and lived in beautiful Smith Valley, Nevada, where she practiced and raised her family.
Dr. Mary was honored as Nevada's Mother of the Year (1950), Nevada's Doctor of the Year (1961), and Distinguished Nevadan (University of Nevada, 1964).
