Haircut Tutorial: Slicked Back Pompadour
In this video, MC Barber will be demonstrating how to create a slicked back pompadour using scissors over knuckles.
-1:00 After parting the hair, MC begins his haircut by taking 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch sections. He removes the length using scissors over knuckles.
-2:42 Using an 8 plastic guard on Wahl clippers, he tapers the back and sides of the head.
-3:28 MC moves down to a 6 plastic guard on Wahl clippers. Fading down avoids removing hair that isn't intended to be removed.
-3:47 Still fading down, he moves to a 2 plastic guard.
-4:29 He then switches to a 1 1/2 plastic guard on Wahl clippers.
-4:47 Using Andis trimmers, he shapes up the hairline.
-6:13 MC tapers the sides burns starting with a 1 1/2 plastic guard on Wahl clippers.
-6:24 Moving down to a 1 plastic guard on Wahl clippers, he further tapers the sideburns.
-6:39 MC uses a sculpting technique done with a razor. This creates texture while removing bulk.
-7:54 Moving to the top of the head, he uses a razor to remove length. This avoids leaving a blunt line.
-9:36 He uses scissors to cross check his razor cut.
-9:54 Using scissors over knuckles, he blends the sides and back into the hairstyle.
-11:07 Returning to the razor, he uses a sculpting technique to connect the sides, back, and top. This creates more texture and removes bulk.
