Autorem fotografii jest Zbyszko Siemaszko - legendarny polski artysta fotografik, autor licznych fotografii Warszawy i innych miast. Urodzony w Wilnie w 1925. W czasie II wojny światowej był żołnierzem 3 Wileńskiej Brygady Armii Krajowej i dokumentował codzienne życie partyzantów. Podczas jednej z akcji w 1944 został dwukrotnie ciężko ranny w głowę, wzięty do niemieckiej niewoli i przekazany Gestapo. Odbity z więziennego szpitala.
Po wojnie zdał maturę i przyjechał do Warszawy. Wykonał m.in. dokumentację fotograficzną odbudowanych zabytków stolicy. Dysponował wysokiej jakości sprzętem, który wykorzystywał m.in. do fotografowania warszawskich budynków i ulic, często z nietypowych punktów (m.in. dachów domów, z samolotów i helikopterów). Z samolotu wykonał także fotografie ponad 300 polskich miast.

Einzigartige – weil ursprünglich farbenfrohe – Fotos der Hauptstadt aus dem Jahr 1959 ermöglichen eine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit und das Kennenlernen der Atmosphäre der Stadt von vor fast 70 Jahren...
Der Autor des Fotos ist Zbyszko Siemaszko – ein legendärer polnischer Fotograf, Autor zahlreicher Fotografien von Warschau und anderen Städten. Geboren 1925 in Vilnius. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs war er Soldat der 3. Vilniuser Heimatarmeebrigade und dokumentierte den Alltag der Partisanen. Bei einer der Aktionen im Jahr 1944 wurde er zweimal schwer am Kopf verletzt, von den Deutschen gefangen genommen und der Gestapo übergeben. Entlassung aus dem Gefängniskrankenhaus.
Nach dem Krieg legte er sein Abitur ab und kam nach Warschau. Er trat unter anderem auf: Fotodokumentation der wiederaufgebauten Denkmäler der Hauptstadt. Er verfügte über eine hochwertige Ausrüstung, die er unter anderem nutzte: zum Fotografieren von Warschauer Gebäuden und Straßen, oft aus ungewöhnlichen Positionen (einschließlich Hausdächern, Flugzeugen und Hubschraubern). Außerdem machte er vom Flugzeug aus Fotos von über 300 polnischen Städten.

Unique - because originally colorful - photos of the capital from 1959 allow you to travel back in time and get to know the atmosphere of the city from almost 70 years ago...
The author of the photos is Zbyszko Siemaszko - a legendary Polish photographer, author of numerous photographs of Warsaw and other cities. Born in Vilnius in 1925. During World War II, he was a soldier of the 3rd Vilnius Home Army Brigade and documented the everyday life of partisans. During one of the actions in 1944, he was seriously injured twice in the head, taken prisoner by the Germans and handed over to the Gestapo. Released from the prison hospital.
After the war, he passed his high school final exams and came to Warsaw. He performed, among others: photographic documentation of the capital's rebuilt monuments. He had high-quality equipment that he used, among others: for photographing Warsaw buildings and streets, often from unusual points (including roofs of houses, planes and helicopters). He also took photos of over 300 Polish cities from the plane.
