The six wives of King Henry VIII were a disparate group of women united only by their marriages to Bluff King Hal. There is a famous rhyme describing their various ends – ‘Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Survived’. Henry VIII is England’s most married monarch. He had six wives in total between 1509 and 1547. He is also remembered for his problems in acquiring a male heir for his throne.
