Introduction to Adidas:
Adidas is one of the iconic sporting brands in the world. In 1947 the owner of the company ADOLF DASLER named his company from the combination of his nickname "adi + das". Adidas is famous for its three-stripes design, but they weren't the first to use it. The original owner of the three stripes concept was Karhu Sports and because Karhu was short on capital after World War II, the owner agreed to sell the trademark to Adidas for $1800 and two bottles of Whiskey. In 1971 Adidas came up with this Trefoil logo which the three stripes included. This logo was later replaced by the current three bars mark that represents a mountain slipping upward to symbolize the challenge to be faced.
Today we are going to learn how to design the Trefoil Adidas Logo.
First we will draw a circle using the ellipse tool, copy it and intersect at it's side and then using the pathfinder - intersect option we will extract the leaf shape. Then we will copy the object at its side and using the rotate tool we will rotate it slanting downwards. Thereafter we will reflect the leaf using the reflect tool on its other side. After that, we will draw stripes using the rectangle tool and arrange them in the order shown in the video. After that, we will exclude the stripes using the shape builder tool and unite the cutout parts of the stripe using a pathfinder. Then select everything and unite. I have used Cocogoose font for the brand name. Hope you will like this tutorial.
