Gameplay:
1) Call out when you are throwing a flash that could potentially blind your own teammate. @0:38
2) When someone has killed at least 3 people and requests an opportunity to ace, back off and play conservatively. Only kill an opponent if you are on the verge of dying or if it will cost your team the round. @0:57
3) After planting the bomb do not leave the bomb unattended to chase an enemy down unless agreed to by your team. @1:18
Communication w/ Teammates:
1) Don’t talk when someone is trying to clutch, sounds are important in the game and they need to focus on the footsteps around them, not you yelling at them to do something. @1:42
2) When you spot an enemy, call out how many enemies you see and if they are pushing. @2:04
3) When you spot the bomb call it out. @2:10
4) Do not call for teammates to rotate unless bomb has been spotted. @2:18
5) When you die call out where you died and how many people killed you. @2:36
6) When someone makes a good play tell them what a great job they did. Nothing helps build team rapport like positive attitudes. @2:52
7) When someone makes a bad play tell them nice try, most people know if they fucked up and don’t need to be reminded by you that they could have done something different. @3:07
Don’t criticize your teammates unless you play with them regularly and they are open to your criticism.
When playing PUG you will be matched up w/ people who are probably not as good as you. Get used to it, it’s part of the game. Everyone started somewhere.
When playing in PUGs, what you think is helpful advice usually comes across as toxic Monday Morning quarterbacking. If you absolutely must provide “advice”, maintaining a calm and positive tone is important. Don’t be a jerk.
Buying:
1) At the start of the round if you have enough money to buy for more than just yourself, ask your teammates if anyone needs a buy. Some people are too shy to ask even when they actually need it so be a friendly player and offer to drop someone. @3:49
2) Do not buy an awp if two other people on your team already have awps. @4:07
3) Do not buy if your entire team is saving. @4:13
4) If you have a lot more money and the team is saving you should offer to drop pistols or be the one to buy utility. @4:27
Sportsmanship w/ Opponents:
1) Start off the game - GLHF @4:36
2) At the end of 1st half - GH @4:45
3) At end of the game - GG @4:50
If you follow these basic gaming etiquette rules you’ll have a much more enjoyable experience and you may even notice that your positive attitude is contagious and will result in better team communication. @5:13
At the end of the day we’re all here to have fun, don’t be the toxic teammate that ruins the experience for the everyone.
Comment below if you want to share additional gaming etiquette that I didn't mentioned.
Until next time, get out there and stay average.
