About the presenter:
Richard Butler:

Richard Butler is a Senior Professional in the National Building Control Office. The office provides oversight, support and direction for the delivery and standardisation of Building Control in the 31 Building Control Authorities: through Education and Training, Inspections, Compliance & Support and IT-Enabler (BCMS). Richard, an expert in the building regulations, codes and standards, leads the Inspections pillar, where he is instrumental in providing compliance support to implement a strengthened inspection regime and promote a culture of compliance with the Building Regulations.

He has over 22 years experience in the construction industry, including assigned certifier and designer roles.

Richard holds a B.Eng. Civil Engineering, P Grad. Dip. Fire Safety Practice and a P.Grad.C. Digital Analysis and Energy Retrofit. Richard is a Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland, A Registered Building Surveyor and a Fellow of The Chartered Associations of Building Engineers (UK).
