EVM on Flow: Launching ERC20s on Flow and more!
Greg Santos, Engineering Manager at Flow Foundation, introduced Flow's EVM compatibility. Flow EVM allows developers to deploy Ethereum DApps on Flow without code changes, leveraging Flow’s unique features. Santos emphasized three core requirements for EVM integration: equivalence (ensuring full functionality without code changes), composability with Flow's native language Cadence, and access to Flow's scalability features. He demonstrated deploying an ERC20 contract using Foundry, highlighting Flow's mainstream scalability and developer-friendly environment. Flow EVM aims to attract cross-chain infrastructure providers, Ethereum app developers, and existing Cadence developers, enhancing interoperability and adoption.
