8 Bit HD vs 10 Bit 4K: Panasonic GH6 + Atomos Shogun Connect
The Atomos Shogun Connect has arrived in the slashCAM editorial office and we tested the new Atomos flagship monitor recorder together with the Panasonic GH6 with direct proxy upload via Atomos Cloud Studio to Frame.io.
If you are looking for the fastest possible playout of your Frame.io material, you can consider whether the 8 bit HD quality of the proxy files is already sufficient or whether it is worth waiting for the HighRes files.
We have put together a small comparison between the 8 bit HD proxy material (H.265) and the 10 bit 4K HighRes material (ProRes 422 HQ) - both produced by Atomos Connect.
