A few years ago, my friends and I started a band, along with a YouTube chanel called Axis. We posted band videos, guitar covers, and drum covers. My second video was a drum cover of this same song, filmed and posted in 2014 (about 3 years ago). I thought I did pretty good....jump ahead to three years later, I look back on it and think, "Wow, I needed a lot of help." It was, quite honestly, sloppy and crashy. But now, after completing this cover of Tom Sawyer, years later, it proves to me how much I have improved in the world of percussion. After many hours of studying music and musicians, technique and rhythm. This drum cover of Tom Sawyer, by Rush, is the result of my study, specifially in the band Rush and the legendary Neil Peart, one of my favorite drummers of all time.
