The NREMT requires you take an approved NREMT refresher also called NREMT remedial training if you fail the NREMT exam three times. NREMT remedial training covers the national component content so you are getting a 20 hour refresher as an EMT, 25 hour refresher as an AEMT or a 30 hour refresher as a Paramedic.
EMT, AEMT and Paramedic students have a total of six tries to pass the NREMT exam, while EMR students only have three tries before they must retake the course.
