My first project after joining Red.
Simply put, I had to try and prove myself. Maybe It's arrogant, but I feel as though I did. I also feel as though I improve with every edit; all opinions and criticism is exactly what helps me do so. Thank you all for that!
It's the first edit that I feel 100% satisfied with. That's not to say I think it's perfect, It's just to say that I gave this edit my all and never wasted time and finished it on my own terms and, most importantly, wasn't rushed in any way!
Fun Facts for the fuck of it :D
-90% of the edit (including clips) is time remapped.
-Discovered how to pull off the "vertigo effect" with cinematics while making this edit.
-Transitions are my absolute favorite part of the edit.
-Intentionally never animated the black bars (except for the very beg) because I wanted to give off a feeling that you're watching one seamless cinematic.
-I genuinely have a story behind the use of every color used. If you'd like to come up with a theory, that'd be dope.
-Personally love the cc and intentionally made the blues over-exaggerated to stamp it as "my own."
-Personally love the theme/colors. Intention was to showcase blues with cc, and orange through effects. (can't have both come only through cc and not look cheap)
-Totally understandable the style-suiting-song criticism. I always want to make edits feel unique to me, especially because Fruit had already mastered the "right" style for this song.
-My favorite portion of this edit is the typography scene. Probably the best flow of the whole edit.
-My favorite cinematic was at 1:06
-Intentionally discharged all "power" in the edit after 2:26. Ember and I wanted the closer to feel as raw as possible without removing the sense of style we built up.
-All around my favorite edit I've ever made. I don't think there's a single moment I'm bored watching it. Hopefully that goes the same for most of you too :)
-Honestly couldn't have done it without Ember
