In honor of the 25th anniversary of the release of The Silence of the Lambs on February 14, 1991; in the novel, Hannibal also references Valentine's Day (his "Valentine" to Clarice is the information about Raspail's storage unit).
Sadly, these lines didn't make it into the movie, but I've included them the conversation in the beginning of the video. I'll include it here as well:
“Has anyone ever sent you a Valentine?”
“Yep.”
“We’re already into Lent, Valentine's Day is only a week away, hmmmm, are you expecting some?”
“You never know.”
“No, you never do....I’ve been thinking about Valentine’s Day. It reminds me of something funny. Now that I think of it, I could make you very happy on Valentine’s Day, Clarice Starling.”
“How, Doctor Lecter?”
“By sending you a wonderful Valentine. I’ll have to think about it.”
