Ep#36: Haar cascade Vs. HOG Descriptor to detect Human using Machine Vision Algorithms.
In this Episode, I have compared the performance of two Algorithms to detect human using Video cameras (two Raspberry pi Camera- one Narrow Field of View- one wide Field of View). Haar cascade algorithms performs poorly in Low Illumination Environment in Comparison with HOG. from The Other Side HOG detects objects in static mode much easier than Dynamic motion. However Decision depends on the application.
