Petrova cesta – Možnosti substituční léčby v nízkoprahovém zařízení
Possibilities of OST (opioid substitution treatment) in HR (harm reduction) in Czech Republic are shown on story of Peter – man that is using for more than 25 years, never legally worked and have been almost 18 years in prison. OST is also defined by Czech experts – Pavel Bém (former mayor of Prague and psychiatrist in OST) and Viktor Mravčík (head of National Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Addiction).

Česká republika je zemí kontrastů. Některé služby poskytuje perfektně, ale jiné zcela chybí.
Svým přístupem k drogové politice patří k nejvyspělejším zemím světa. Máme poměrně stabilní síť služeb harm reduction, systém léčby dokáže klienta provést od prvního kontaktu až do následné péče a neziskové organizace poskytující adiktologické služby většinou řídí kapacity oboru. K dokonalosti toho ale přeci jen ještě spoustu chybí. Jeden z nejdůležitějších problémů českého systému péče o závislé představuje nedostatečná síť ambulantních zařízení, do kterých spadají i programy poskytující substituční léčbu. Rovněž je tomu např. s naprostým nedostatkem možností bydlení pro uživatele drog, ale o tom jindy.
Petr’s Journey
The Czech Republic is a country of contrasts regarding services for people who use drugs. Some services are provided perfectly, but others are completely missing. Its approach to drug policy is quite advanced. It has a relatively stable network of harm reduction services, and the treatment system is capable of guiding the client from the first contact to the aftercare. Non-profit organisations providing ‘addictology’ services are managed by distinguished professionals in this field. But there are still many gaps in the system. One of the most important is the limited availability of substitution treatment programs. We will focus on opioid substitution treatment centres, but as one of the countries with very high use of crystal meth (in Czech the famous pervitin) we would also like to introduce substitution care on stimulant substances.
