More State Money For Tidewater Soccer Stadium? We Caught Up With: Governor McKee In EP! June 5, 2023
It appears there might be an end run around the Budget Process to get more Taxpayer Money for the struggling Tidewater Stadium! At approximately 6:23 of this recording:
Governor McKee:
"There's flexibility that we put into the budget this year to make sure that we keep that project going, and it will."
Moments later ....
"When we moved a certain portion of dollars over from one side of the river to the other side of the river? To have that project go? I said that we would put provisions in to put the housing piece and for the retail piece to put flexibility into the budget so we could do that. I believe that is in the budget right now. And now it will be up to different parties including the Commerce Board to determine how we allocate some of the funds that got approved in the budget that are going directly into Commerce."
