In this video I'm going to highlight 3 key differences that I have noticed between the two
For those who are new here, over the past four years, I’ve helped more than 100 founders build and launch their startups using NoCode & Bubble. I love Bubble, and I have a team "bubbling" all day every day for client projects at my agency.
Number 1. Founders who win have a focus on the user & their problem & not the product.
in todays world, a startup is rarely about the product
it is about the user, their needs, their problems, their pain points.
have you read the story about the space pen on wikipedia? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Pen
Nasa spent lots of money on a pen that worked in space under 0 gravity
While the russians just used a pencil. because pencils work in solving the problem
Founders who win focus on the user & the problem. Not the tech solution/product
Number 2. Founders who win focus on marketing & sales & distribution from day 1
build it and they will come
hacker news, indie hackers, product hunt are all full of passionate founders who built the product and no one came
even after going viral and reaching the number 1 spot for a while.
i used to think that there is something special that needs doing or some secret strategy. there is not.
marketing & sales are not foreign concepts.
there are countless books on it. i recommend alex hormozis book million dollar leads for this one to explain it in a non technical way.
Before I talk about number 3, my goal is to reach 5000 subscribers & I'd really appreciate it if you smash that like button & subscribe to the channel.
Number 3. Founders who win listen selectively & adapt.
This is a tricky one & a particularly hard one.
Creating your own startup often means taking the road less traveled. you are going against the norm.
This requires a different type of strength & usually comes with a bit of stubbornness.
Sometimes that strength and passion goes against us when we dont listen to the feedback that we needed to listen to and adjust course.
Being able to selectively listen to the right type of feedback and adapting course is a skill that needs building.
