so many of my Zionist Jewish siblings are condoning this displacement, this genocide, even after all we've been through as a people.
just the act of claiming that displacing our Phalastinian cousins and erecting a state in its place, is in itself anti-Jewish, against our values as a people; let alone the claim that Israel is the "only safe place" for us, only makes it more dangerous for our diaspora, our people, to exist anywhere else in the world.
our displacements do not excuse anyone else's; genocides committed against us do not excuse any at our own hands.
this commission is happening whether it is fully funded or not: let the world see how we can grieve and love our own people and our Palestinian cousins at the same time.
let the world see the violence it has done to us and that flows through our traumas; but do not ever excuse it as "okay". never again means Never Again for Everyone.
what i ask of you today is to keep talking about Palestine, especially if you are Jewish like me. keep talking, keep demanding a ceasefire, and stay awake.
