The separation of powers is the hallmark of any modern democracy. The executive, legislative and judiciary control each other in order to prevent abuse of power in the long term.
The three powers:
For coexistence between people in a state to work well, there must be laws. These are intended to ensure that everyone has the same rights and that the freedom of all citizens is secured. To prevent one person alone from deciding on all laws, three different departments, also called "powers," are supposed to take care of this. Behind each of these powers is a group of people.
Here first the rough areas of responsibility of the three powers:
1) The first power is the legislature, the legislative power. It is supposed to make laws so that everyone in the state knows what is allowed and what is not.
2) The second power is the executive, the executive power. It is supposed to implement the laws in everyday life and make sure that everyone obeys them.
3) The third power is the judiciary, the law-giving power. It is supposed to punish people who do not obey the law.
