Message from Jean-Pierre FABRE for April 27, 2018
Valiant Togolese people,
Brave freedom fighters,
My Dear Compatriots,
With you, I recognize that the enthusiasm of the commemoration of this April 27th holiday should have been
grand and reconciliatory. But for now, we must reclaim our freedom. "Let tyrants come, your heart yearns for freedom," teaches us "Terre De Nos Aïeux,"
this sublime song, this solemn oath of the fathers of independence and founders of the Togolese nation, which spans the ages to future generations and which constitutes our common profession of faith. An indestructible profession of faith. An unfalsifiable profession of faith. An unalterable and inalienable profession of faith that underpins our conviction, our commitment, and our collective determination to build, enrich, and cherish a Togo that finally belongs to its time, a Togo that we will be proud to bequeath to our children.
I therefore ask everyone to redouble their vigilance and zeal during this crucial phase of our common struggle and to respond en masse to our calls for general mobilization. "The night is long, but the day is coming."

And may Almighty God bless our beloved country, Togo.
