Ive used this grinder one time so far, but it worked as expected. I was concerned that the lack of a variable speed control would be an issue, but the tool was smooth and easy to operate despite operating at 25,000 RPM.
I typically use an air-powered die grinder, so I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this tool is and that I didnt have to wait for my air compressor to recover in order to finish the job.

I have yet to reach for my air-powered die grinder since getting the GD0601. Also, I was concerned that the lack of variable speed might cause problems for me, but so far I have not needed to run it at a slower speed.
There is nothing bad about this tool. I read reviews on cheaper die grinders and was afraid they would die on me or not be powerful enough. I only needed this tool for a few things but I wanted something that would work.
Im so happy I went with the more expensive choice. I bought some cheap grinding stones and some carbide bits and this thing cuts through anything like butter.
Do yourself a favor and get a full face shield.
I bought this to do a home project. It is a simple on off switch not variable speed I use this in place of a air grinder it’s a bit big but the unit is pretty light. I’m not grinding for hours probably 15-20 minutes at a time it has worked very well.
I use this guy for carving wood, cleaning up steel it works great, it is heavy duty and don't forget to wear some protection when using it this thing will really leave a mark if you catch your hand with it!
Its important to know what youre buying before you buy it, and there are a lot of negative reviews on this and other grinders, as well as for the bits and burrs.
Many of these reviews are unwarranted and/or theyre not actually complaining about the function of the tool itself. This is a basic electric die grinder with a 25,000rpm no-load speed.
If you dont know what that means, its sort of like a Dremel, but its much larger, heavier, and much more powerful. It has one speed, and thats fast.
Some people claim that it cannot be precise but its a simple tool, which means its exactly as precise as your ability to safely control and support it.
It is heavier and has more torque (twisting force) than its smaller counterparts, but practice increases precision. As for bits and burrs, there are many varieties available, but most of them are designed for working with metals of various types.
The most important consideration is to only use bits rated for 25,000rpm or greater. Some bits will bend or break apart at these speeds.
As a general rule, the more tightly spaced the cutting edges, the more problems youll have with softer materials (wood, softer aluminum, etc.). Some types of burrs are much better than others and can cut hardened steel amazingly well.
