Testing and Reviewing the St. Croix Avid X
I recently bought the St. Croix Avid X in medium-light power. I felt my St. Croix Mojo Bass in medium power was a bit too stiff and strong for smaller soft plastic presentations. After one evening of fishing the Avid X I have to say it is perfect for this application. I threw around a 1/8oz jighead with a Nikko Hellgrammite and I couldn't of had been happier with how the rod performed with this lure. Ended up with an average sized Mayan cichlid, a small largemouth bass, and an above average sized peacock bass. Once again the Avid X performed perfectly when fighting these fish.
