Tesseract
In the spring of 2020, a limited edition vinyl record titled TESSERACT was released in Germany.
This musical composition is based on the music of composer Gennady Rovner, which was improvisationally interpreted and performed by the legendary Soviet and global jazz artist Leonid Chizhik.
The idea for this creative experiment emerged from the long-standing friendship and collaboration between two talented, interesting, and vibrant individuals.
Leonid Chizhik's unique interpretation of Gennady Rovner's compositions, which have already been released in the albums Tanaya, India Inside, as well as some unpublished works, has undoubtedly revealed new facets and aspects of this beautiful music. The vast palette of stylistic colors, the melodiousness, and the drive of jazz musician Leonid Chizhik have allowed the creators of the four compositions, as well as the listeners, to see something new and profound in Gennady Rovner's works, just like the name Tesseract itself meaning (from Ancient Greek τέσσαρες ἀκτῖνες — "four rays") — a four-dimensional hypercube.
