"Poshekhonskaya Antiquity" (1975)
A film about the Russia we lost (daughter-in-law, serfdom, exploitation, and lawlessness) composed of three short stories based on M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin's novel "Poshekhonskaya Antiquity." The film almanac consists of three short stories: "Unlucky Matryonka" (directed and screenplay by Natalya Bondarchuk); "Brother Fedos" (directed and screenplay by Igor Khutsiev); and "Vanka-Cain" (directed and screenplay by Nikolai Burlyaev).
