I first played this game in School Within a School at Central Highschool in Duluth, MN when I was retaking 9th grade from all the school skipping I had done the previous year.
We were given the option to play this game, Number Munchers and Odell Lake along with other educational games after our school work was completed.
I met my Friend Edward Vannette in this class and we played some of these games together. Good memories of some of the first years hanging out with Eddie. I don't condone this these days but, Eddie and I did alot of skipping together at places like the Incline Station bowling alley and arcade, where we did alot of gaming. The game systems we owned at home at the time were Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. We both played Super Nintendo more-so. Eddie's favorite game was U.N. Squadron. Mine were the Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games.
My Wife Cathie and I played Side 1 to add our family members to the story and have fun playing a little bit. We both played these in Highschool along with typing classes on the Apple IIgs. We both are familiar with the green screen and the colored screen, but the most common at that time was the green screen. This is the way playing Oregon Trail looked and felt. Oh, how I love game emulation these days. :)
Eddie will be missed, but we will always have memories of him.
